Campus Safety

Campus Safety

QHCC promotes a safe, respectful learning environment through clear reporting channels, emergency planning, and community expectations.

Safety information reviewed June 2026

Emergency Communication

Students should keep contact information current so the college can share urgent notices, schedule changes, facility updates, and safety information when needed.

  • College email and portal alerts.
  • Website notices and schedule updates.
  • Posted instructions at campus facilities.
  • Direct communication from campus personnel when necessary.

Reporting Concerns

Students, employees, and visitors may report safety concerns, disruptive behavior, facility hazards, or urgent support needs to campus administration or student services.

Reports should include the location, time, people involved, immediate risk, and any steps already taken. Urgent situations should be reported to emergency services first.

Student Conduct

QHCC expects respectful behavior in classrooms, online environments, advising appointments, and campus events. Conduct concerns are reviewed with attention to student learning, safety, and fairness.

Preparedness

Campus safety planning includes evacuation routes, staff training, emergency contact review, and coordination with local emergency services when appropriate.

Immediate Emergencies

For an immediate threat to life, health, or property, call 911. After contacting emergency services, notify campus administration when it is safe to do so.

Evacuation and Shelter

During an evacuation, follow posted routes and staff directions, leave belongings behind when instructed, and report to the designated assembly area. Shelter instructions may be used when leaving a building is not the safest option.

Parking and Evening Safety

Students should use designated parking and walking routes, avoid leaving valuables visible, remain aware of surroundings, and contact campus staff when assistance is needed after evening classes.

Support After an Incident

Student services can help individuals identify academic adjustments, community resources, reporting options, and appropriate follow-up after a safety or conduct incident.
