Catalog & Policies

Catalog & Policies

QHCC catalog policies help students understand registration, attendance, grading, academic standing, and records expectations.

Catalog policy summary updated for 2026-2027

Catalog Use

Students use the catalog to review course descriptions, prerequisites, units, program requirements, and planning notes. Advisors help interpret catalog information before registration.

Program requirements may change between catalog years. Students should keep a copy of the catalog and educational plan used for their program, then confirm changes with advising.

Registration Responsibility

Students are responsible for registering in appropriate courses, confirming schedules, reviewing fees, and checking college email for updates from admissions, advising, and instructors.

Attendance and Participation

Regular attendance and active participation are expected in all courses. Instructors explain class-specific attendance standards, assignment deadlines, and participation expectations in the syllabus.

Grades and Academic Progress

Students should monitor grades throughout the term and seek tutoring or advising support early. Academic progress conversations are intended to help students adjust before issues become difficult to repair.

  • Review grades and instructor feedback throughout the term.
  • Use tutoring or office hours before falling substantially behind.
  • Meet with advising when repeating, dropping, or withdrawing from a course.
  • Confirm how course changes affect program completion.

Course Numbers and Prerequisites

Course numbers identify subject and level but do not guarantee transfer. Prerequisites and recommended preparation are listed to help students enter courses with the knowledge needed to participate successfully.

Schedule Changes

Adding, dropping, and withdrawing from courses requires action by the student before the applicable deadline. Not attending class does not automatically remove a student from enrollment.

Academic Integrity

Students are expected to submit their own work, acknowledge sources, follow assessment rules, and use technology responsibly. Instructors explain course-specific expectations and procedures.

Records, Concerns, and Appeals

Questions about records, grades, conduct decisions, or college procedures should begin with the responsible instructor or office. Students may request review through the applicable academic or administrative process.
